2007 Aston Martin DB9 Auto Coupe
The ultimate in Grand Touring£29,995
SoldA couple of firsts for Aston’s DB9, the 1st production car to be built at their new Gaydon facility back in 2004 then tradition went out the window when ‘8’ was bypassed following on from the DB7. They went straight to nine after concerns buyers would assume this all new model was V8 powered when it enjoyed the awesome V12 from their Vanquish model. Based on a Ford’s VH (vertical-horizontal) platform the all-alloy panelled Grand Tourer was available in both Coupe and Convertible form. Country Classic Cars are very pleased to be able to offer this December 2007 example on a commission sale, with 4 previous owners and just 49676 miles travelled. Apart from the standard extremely high factory specification on the DB9, in this case the original owner requested Sports Pack, 5-spoke alloys, grey brake calipers, bright-finish grille, front parking sensors, piano black facia trim and includes AM car cover.

At Country Classic Cars we find it’s best to present a ‘warts and all’ detailed write up of any classic we are requested to sell. This helps to avoid ‘buyer’s remorse’ especially for those purchasing from abroad or interested parties travelling distances to view. The Meteorite Silver finish only enhances the classic lines this DB9 enjoys and very careful inspection picked up the smallest of defects. A couple of tiny chips to the screen and a small scuff mark to the n/s sill, both n/s and o/s rear quarter panels feature very light blemishes under the paint. The n/s is on the wheel arch itself whilst the o/s is smaller and just behind the arch above the bumper line; still images struggle to pick up these marks but they are clear on video.
You feel almost privileged sitting in the DB9, soft full grain leather features perfect stitching with seat bolsters that present perfectly. Thick carpets protected with factory over-mats, unmarked plastics surrounds more tech than any nerd could desire. Hours could be spent with the owners-manual pressing buttons and selecting screens but we can confirm whatever we tested operated as it should and whilst cocooned within this luxurious cabin the chance to engage the start button proves all too tempting. The V12 bursts into life, the pinnacle of automotive audio that quickly settles, another button and drive selects without fuss; our short road test was more than a drive it was an experience; one that proved impossible to fault. Slick ratio changes, exact steering offering endless feedback with impressive grip courtesy of the 19inch rims sporting quality rubber. Journalists used phrases such as ‘soulful’ and ‘mystic’ when assessing the DB9 and no doubt it is a GT with plenty of theatre and beauty. The old adage about buying the best example you can is most apt with any Aston Martin, this DB9 is a stunner that belies its 16 years both inside and out, low miles with complete service history that will offer most mere mortals the opportunity to enjoy their 007 moment.
