1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 Manual
Supercar performance from the land of the rising sun£23,995
SoldCertified ‘petrolheads only’ need apply for the Skyline GT-R that Country Classic Cars have been asked to sell for a client who currently resides overseas. A BNR32 chassis showing 101k kilometres or 62k miles with a UK import date of 2014 since when this performance focused Nissan has enjoyed engine upgrades resulting in current figures approaching 500bhp!!
Launched to dominate Japan’s Group A race series the Nismo would prove victorious in all of the 29 rounds entered: leading to the R32 ‘all-conquering’ status. Competing, the 4.5 litre class Nissan’s RB26 came standard with 276bhp and 260ft lbs torque and proved under used, in the hands of works teams anything up 1000bhp was achievable. Even in standard form 5.6 to 62mph and 156mph meant the Porsche 911 and M3’s of the day were left in its wake but the power delivery via Nissan’s AWD system ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-Terrain with Electronic Torque Split) would power the rear wheels normally but could shift up to 50% frontwards as required.
We look to offer honest appraisals with our vehicles and start with the exterior of this GT-R which is finished in Crystal White. Issues noted are both rear wheel arches feature light corrosion which could be courtesy of modifications made to except 18 inch A Tech rims sporting 225 rubber. Plus, the o/s lower section of the rear quarter has small blisters; these are not severe and should prove a straightforward repair. Paint has flaked on the o/s of the rear spoiler and shows wear on the top section and a previous small ‘blow in’ is evident on the n/s rear quarter. Cracked paint is noticeable on the top of the front bumper whilst all four alloy rims have some kerb damage; images of all these issues are available. The interior enjoys additional gauges fitted to the windscreen pillar for temperature and boost plus a Sony sound system and Momo steering wheel. Carpets have been protected with overmats and appear fresh but slight wear was noted to the Alcantara insert on the passenger seat.
Brembo calipers feature up front whilst the Rein Hard stainless exhaust muffler provides ample audio at the rear. Everything operated correctly during road test, the twin turbo’s require space to operate and leave the pilot in no doubt of their potential whilst the much-praised tactile feedback and mechanical feel become quickly evident; it feels the phrase ‘awesome’ was invented for the GT-R. But it is obvious where the current owners priorities lay and that is most certainly beneath the hood with heavy investment in the drivetrain confirmed by invoices totalling over £8,500 since important up to 2019, carried out by specialist Bells Auto Services, Hampshire … they are as follows:
