Definitely a break from the traditional Country Classic Cars offerings but when a regular client asked us to market his full electric Renault Zoe we took the chance to learn about the ‘Future Generation’ in the ever changing world of mobility.

Project X10 was announced in 2008, the ambition for Renault was to build an all-new electric ‘supermini’ at an affordable price, it would become the Zoe. Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012 the first Zoe’s arrived in the UK during 2013 after a lengthy delay due to Renault’s determination to ‘get it right’ first time, based on the Clio platform but offering more interior space whilst being longer and taller. Press releases at the time stated the interior was ‘Reflecting the concept of purity, the cabin aims to create a relaxing, zen feel with materials that are soft to the touch’ and most agree this aim was achieved. Perfect for town driving this Zoe utilises braking regeneration courtesy of the Bosch system installed. Whilst manufacturers/NEDC range is stated at 150 miles in the real world its more likely to be around 100 miles. The current owner took advantage of Renault’s battery lease scheme and that could be continued, the price dependant on the annual mileage covered. For example, £69 per month ensures manufacturer cover for all battery requirements with mileage of 7500 per year… less miles the lower the monthly rate. This car can be fully charged from the wall in 3 hours, fast charging points also benefit from Government grants towards installation although it is cheaper to charge through a regular point but takes longer at 9 hours.

Registered November 2016 this Zoe ZE Dynamique Nav Auto R240 22KWH has travelled just 22,146 miles, it enjoys a 5 star NCAP safety rating and features ABS, stability control and drivers, passengers plus two side airbags. Specification is extremely high including air conditioning, central locking, electric windows, alarm, cruise control, parking sensors, immobiliser, keyless start, PAS, tyre monitoring, alloys, heated wing mirrors, auto headlights, LED daytime lights, automatic wipers, auto hold hill assist, AUX socket, blue tooth, centre arm rest, climate control, Ipod connectivity, push button start, reverse cameras, sat nav, stop start, touch screen media, USB, steering wheel controls and comes with charging cables for both high and low rates.

Visually, this Zoe is in great condition, the metallic grey finish is bright and careful inspection noted two light marks on the rear bumper whilst the n/s front alloy has slight kerb damage. Electric blue coating to the front Renault badge has peeled and being chrome beneath it will make sense to remove it completely. For those seeking to join the world of electric vehicles the Zoe must surely be one of the best options; well supported by Renault with the battery lease programme and ample range for most town dwellers.
